Classroom-Based Instruction

Unlike self-led or at-home Pilates instructor training, the Indy School of Pilates program incorporates valuable classroom-based instruction.

This unique, comprehensive training is designed and taught by Rachel Williams, the only experienced 2nd Generation Pilates Master who also specializes in movement and breathing dysfunction treatment modalities.

Training offered at Indy School of Pilates provides a culmination of study across multiple Pilates disciplines. It uniquely offers its students a unified method which elegantly blends the major Pilates methods into one.

Pilates Mat Instructor Training

Mat Training Completion Requirements

To complete the Indy School of Pilates Mat Instructor Training Program, each participant must fulfill the following requirements:

  • 100 total hours required for completion, including:
    • Classroom-based Mat modules (30 hours)
    • Observation (20 hours)
    • Personal Practice (20 hours)
    • Student Teaching (30 hours)
  • Pass the Mid-Term Written Mat Exam (End of Session 1)
  • Pass the Final Practical Mat Exam (End of Session 2)

Upon completing the requirements listed above, trainees will receive a certificate declaring the successful completion of the Indy School of Pilates – Pilates Mat Training Program, which also recognizes the fulfillment of the required hours and passing of the training exams.

Classroom-Based Training

  • All material and classes designed and taught by 2nd Generation Pilates Master, Rachel Williams
  • 30 Classroom Training Hours
  • Levels of difficulty covered:
    Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced/Master

Training Manuals

  • Detailed photos and descriptions of more than 100 mat exercises
  • Includes Pilates history, “The Principles of Pilates”, breathing, anatomy, ranges of motion and more
  • Exercises are grouped intuitively
  • Easy-to-follow structured routines
  • Specifically designed for quick reference
  • High-quality, spiral-bound manuals with example photos of each exercise

Apprenticeship Program

  • Direct access to Master-certified trainer, Rachel Williams, for counselling and guidance

  • Access to open studio practice hours at Indy House of Pilates for free

Membership Website

  • Free access to on-demand videos for 3 months, including:
  • Exercise demonstrations from the training sessions

  • Participation in online coaching sessions with Master-certified trainer, Rachel Williams

Pilates Equipment Instructor Training

Equipment Training Completion Requirements

To complete the Indy School of Pilates Equipment Instructor Training Program, each participant must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Pre-Requisite: Completion of the classroom-based training portion (30 hours) of the Indy School of Pilates Mat Training Program
  • 450 total hours required for completion, including:
    • Classroom-based Equipment modules (50 hours)
    • Observation (100 hours)
    • Personal Practice (150 hours)
    • Student Teaching (150 hours)
  • Pass the Mid-Term Written Equipment Exam (End of Session 3)
  • Pass the Final Practical Equipment Exam (End of Session 5)

Upon completing the requirements listed above, trainees will receive a certificate declaring the successful completion of the Indy School of Pilates – Pilates Equipment Training Program, which also recognizes the fulfillment of the required hours and passing of the training exams.
